Fujitsu-Siemens has added to its growing range of corporate laptops with the LifeBook C1320. Typically dull by design, the laptop promises to be extremely robust with an 'exceptionally long' battery life.
The LifeBook C1320 is powered by the latest Intel Centrino Mobile Technology. The entry-level model is also available with a 15in. standard or 15.4in. widescreen display for prices starting at 2479 euros. It also comes with dual-channel PC533 DDR2 SDRAM and an Express card slot.
As companies are ever increasingly replacing their desktop PCs with laptops, more emphasis is being placed on performance, battery life and versatility - characteristics which directly influence mobility and thus productivity. Fujitsu Siemens has addressed these issues with the LifeBook C1320 by deploying Intel's latest 915GM chipset (known as Sonoma), together with the company's 'family concept'.
The system's modular bay device, AC adapter and Port Replicator are compatible with the LifeBook E and S Series as well as the Celsuis H mobile workstation. The advanced Lithium-Ion battery technology allows the LifeBook C1320 to operate for up to 12.5 hours (with both batteries) without recharging. The aluminium frame, meanwhile, promises exceptional on-the-road stability for a mobile device weighing only 2.65kg.
Currently, the LifeBook C1320 is the only laptop in its class to offer the newest serial ATA (S-ATA) technology, according to the company, which increases data transfer speeds to up to 150MB/s. Alongside the Intel 915GM chipset, this should give the LifeBook C1320 a 25 per cent performance boost over its predecessor, the LifeBook C1110.
