Captaris RightFax 9.0 .NET-based fax software

RightFax is fax server software for businesses of all sizes. It enables users to send, receive and manage high volumes of documents directly from their desktop, e-mail and other business applications. It also supports add-on connectors and integrates with CRM, document management, e-mail, ERP, multifunction devices and a host of other business applications. What's particularly interesting about the major update of the software is that it now offers an open Microsoft SQL Server database designed for scalability and interoperability, as well as a .NET-based Web client and interface for sending, receiving, and managing faxes. Security and privacy capabilities have also been extended, including restricted viewing and user tracking. There's also support for Short Messaging Services (SMS) so you can create and send SMS messages from RightFax clients, such as Outlook and Lotus Notes, as well as Fax-over-IP functionality, which supports the T.38 real-time faxing standard via Brooktrout's TR 1034 intelligent fax boards. The software also promises faster and easier deployment, a simplified user interface, and various performance enhancements, according to the company.

Pros: SQL support; .NET-based Web client; Fax-over-IP
Cons: Runs on Windows platforms only

Organisations in many industries including healthcare, financial and mortgage services, manufacturing and government rely heavily on paper-based systems.
