Lexmark Announces Four Bargain Basement Printers

Lexmark has today announced four new inkjet photo printers. The X2350 All-in-One (AIO), P6350 All-in-One (AIO) and P4350 All-in-One (AIO) are designed to deliver all-round value to everyday users, while the Z735 responds to the needs of a key group of consumers who want a basic, easy-to-use printer with low-cost supplies.

All of the printers use Lexmark's specially designed '#1 cartridge' to produce brilliant photos, vibrant colour graphics and text with a single technology-rich cartridge, according to the company, eliminating the need for multiple cartridge swapping. In addition, with a larger swath and more nozzles than previous entry-level models, the printers are also relatively speedy - up to 15 pages-per-minute (ppm) for colour or text documents and 38 seconds for 4x6in. photos.

'One source of consumer frustration has been searching for and purchasing multiple printer cartridges for a single printer. With the new X2350 AIO and Z735 inkjet, customers don't have to worry about the cost or hassle of multiple cartridges anymore. The only supply they need is the Lexmark #1 cartridge,' said Najib Bahous, Lexmark vice president and president of its Consumer Printer Division.

The X2350 AIO ($69.99) and Z735 ($49.99) promise to make printing 6x4in. borderless photos a snap thanks to the exclusive Lexmark Imaging Studio software. This software also includes one-step photo fix tools that result in brilliant photos that rival professional prints, claims Lexmark. The X2350 AIO features one-touch scanning and one-touch copying with or without a PC, while the P4350 ($133) includes a 1.7in. colour LCD screen.

In addition, the P4350 use Lexmark's Evercolor inks to deliver photos that can last longer than most traditional photos under display conditions without fading, and more than 200 years stored in photo albums, according to the company. The P6350 ($149) is designed to be the ultimate home photo lab.

It allows you to enhance the appearance of photos with automatic image correction, colour enhancement and automatic red-eye removal - all directly from the printer. You can also apply colour filters to apply effects including antique grey or sepia. The P6350 also uses Lexmark's Evercolor inks.
