Creative Has A Vision

Creative has finally released the Zen Vision Portable Video Player (PVP). Leaked to the public weeks before its release date, the Zen Vision (124x74x20mm, 239g) sheds much of the bulk of its Windows Mobile-powered sibling, the Zen Portable Media Center (PMC), and is available with a choice of either a 20GB or 30GB hard disk drive, in either black or white.

The magnesium alloy-encased device has a high-res screen and plays back MP3, DRM-protected WMA, WAV, JPEG, TIFF, MPEG-4, WMV, DivX and Xvid files, as well as a host of other media formats. The screen is relatively large at 3.7in., has a resolution of 640x480 pixels and supports 262,144 colours. It also features an FM radio and voice recording. Basically, this is a PVP that plays everything.

The 30GB Creative Zen Vision should be accommodating enough to carries up to around 15000 songs, tens of thousands of photos, or up to 120 hours of video. The removable and rechargeable Lithium-ion battery should provide up to 4.5 hours of video playback.

The device also includes Compact Flash Card Type I & II card slots and syncs with Microsoft's Outlook. The Zen Vision comes with a USB cable to connect to a computer. A docking station is available as well.
