Mozilla has released its latest version of Firefox, version 1.5.0.1. The update includes improved stability and several security enhancements.
For current users the browser should automatically update itself, but require a restart. So how did this happen? Well, you are, whether you knew it for sure or not, a beta tester if youve installed Firefox 1.5b1 or 1.5b2 and then used the auto-upgrade system to move to the 1.5 final release.
Since you installed a beta and never re-installed Firefox from the full installer your update channel is beta, which means you are willing to run beta versions of Firefox. Support for Mac OS X has been improved and several memory leaks have also been fixed. For Mac OS X, users must have Mac OS X 10.2 or greater.
Mozilla Firefox project (formerly Firebird, which was formerly Phoenix) is a redesign of Mozillas browser component, written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform. It includes a popup blocker, tabbed browsing, a smarter search, hassle free downloading, and improved privacy and security.
Mozillas Firefox is known for two main features: its tabbed-browsing and its search bar on a more streamlined toolbar, which have been added to the new beta version of Microsofts market-leading
Internet Explorer 7.
