Fujitsu Computer Systems has announced the availability of the LifeBook N6410, a Media Center laptop that combines Microsofts Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 operating system with the quick responsiveness delivered by Intels Core Duo mobile technology.
Equipped with the new power-efficient dual-core Intel Core Duo processor, the LifeBook N6410, flagship of the Fujitsu consumer portfolio, should easily handle multiple computing demands such as watching a movie while downloading photos.
An equally impressive sight and sound experience should be delivered by the 17-inch widescreen (WXGA+) Color-Enhanced Crystal View TFT LCD display. With a colour saturation of 72 per cent and a 40 per cent brighter display than the standard TFT screen, the LifeBook 6410 exploits a DVD players potential by producing razor sharp detail, rich colors, and subtle shadows and shading, says the company.
Graphics are driven by ATIs Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics controller with 256MB HyperMemory. The system also include 2GB of dual-channel DDR2 667MHz memory. Storage is abundant, even for the most ambitious data collectors with Serial ATA support and dual hard drives with a maximum storage capacity of 320GB, the largest hard disk drive combination on the market.
Fujitsu engineering has brought a new level of refinement to the LifeBook N6410s built-in stereo sound system, which includes an integrated subwoofer. By applying innovative sound technology to the laptop computer chassis, rich tone quality and excellent base response have been attained without enlarging the system, claims Fujitsu.
The LifeBook N6410 is also equipped with many built-in media ports including a dedicated Memory Stick/SD/xD Picture card slot, and dedicated ExpressCard slot making downloading home movies and photos from a digital camera and burning them onto a CD or DVD quick and easy.
With the addition of a media panel, located above the keyboard, playing digital media is just a button push away. An optional built-in TV tuner and remote control are also offered for the Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 operating system. Intels PRO/Wireless 3945ABG provides Wi-Fi connections.
The LifeBook N6410, with pricing starting at $1649 (£946) for a base configuration, is available through the Fujitsu direct sales force, Web site, channel partners and select retail outlets. You can choose from a recommended configuration, or you can customise the system using the Fujitsu Configure To Order (CTO) program.
