Plustek OpticSlim M12 Sheetfed Scanner

Sporting an unquestionably compact form factor, Plustek’s latest scanner might be just the gadget to get road warriors excited.

And you can create PDF files on the fly. What more do you need? It has all the features of the old OpticSlim M12 and in addition it can now scan full legal-sized documents and create PDFs with the touch of a button.

The OpticSlim M12 Plus (47x274x33.8mm, 300g) is capable of scanning up to A4 size (216x355mm) at a rate of 3 pages per minute. It’s also power cord free, thanks to the way it uses a USB 1.1 port for juice, and comes with software to scan photos, articles, brochures and business cards.

The scanner allows scanning of both images and text, with 176 languages of OCR support. Plustek promises a high-quality result (up to 600dpi and 48-bit colour) and single-or multiple-file options. Further, no specific operating system or application are needed.

Additional accessories include a scanner mount kit which includes a holder and mounting hardware. This allows you to mount the scanner on a wall to save space – it’s even fully functional while mounted. You even get a base stand, to save desktop space when the scanner is not in use. The scanner costs $179 (£102).
