Antec P150 Quiet Computing Enclosure

Antec, manufacturer of computer hardware and accessories for the upgrade and build your own (BYO) markets, has launched the P150, the latest enclosure in its Performance One series.

The P150’s quiet computing enhancements and gleaming white-and-brushed-aluminium finish even sport blue front bezel LED accents.

The case was designed from the ground up for silence, featuring sound-deadening polycarbonate side and top panels to reduce overall noise. It also comes with four removable hard disk drive (HDD) trays with silicone grommets to isolate noise-causing vibrations.

For even quieter performance, the drive trays can be removed and Antec’s HDD suspension system can be used for up to three hard drives, thus completely eliminating direct contact and resultant noise between the drives and chassis structure. The P150 also includes an Antec 120mm TriCool selectable-speed fan, which allows you to adjust the fan speed to your desired cooling level and quietness.

The P150 complements silence with the environmentally friendly design of the Neo HE 430W ATX12V v2.2 power supply. The power supply’s energy-efficient operation reduces power consumption by up to 20 per cent compared with standard power supplies, says Antec.

Neo HE features universal input with active Power Factor Correction (PFC). The improved circuit design and 0.99 power factor result in an environmentally friendly power supply that claims to save energy. Its advanced cable management system reduces case clutter and improves internal airflow, resulting in cleaner, quieter and cooler operation, the company claims.

Additional features of the P150 include built-in cable channels, which keep cables organised and out of the way to further improve airflow within the case, removable side panel with easy-access thumb screws; removable front bezel, and removable washable air filter. Supporting up to standard ATX motherboards, the chassis also comes equipped with two USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire port and audio connectors for multimedia connections mounted on the front panel for convenience.

The P150 is available now for £125 through major retailers, e-tailers and distributors. It is backed by Antec’s 3-Year Warranty.
