Acer, best know around these parts for its fantastic range of laptops, has further enhanced its range of home entertainment devices with the launch of a new digital still camera, the ultra-slim six mega-pixel Acer CU-6530 (£199).

Specially designed to fit in any pocket, the CU-6530 is an ultra-slim and relatively versatile digital camera. Featuring 6.36-Megapixel resolution, wide zoom lens, 2.5-inch LTPS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) LCD screen and a simple-to-use interface, the CU-6530 should be good enough for beginners and seasoned pros alike.

The easy grip and lightweight design give you full control when taking difficult shots. With practical features and easily accessible shooting modes, the CU-6530 features a 1/2.5-inch CCD sensor and 3x optical (4x digital) zoom lens. Its rechargeable lithium battery supports up to 200 photos, with a maximum picture resolution of 2816x2112 pixels.

With a SD storage capacity of up to 1GB (64MB card provided), the CU-6530 features video recording at a 640x480-pixel resolution at 30fps with voice recording, which enables you to record their thoughts and ideas while out and about.

Downloading photos to a computer should also be a snap. All you need to do is to put the camera into the bundled cradle and press the playback button. The handy finger-curve design allows a firmer grip for one-hand operation.

The Acer CU-6530 direct printing capability also lets you print pictures directly to any PictBridge-enabled printer even without a PC. This enables fast printing for quick sharing. The Acer CU-6530 package offers a complete and useful set of accessories including video cable, USB cable, AC power adapter and cradle for added value-for-money practicality. Acer Digital Cameras come with a 2-year return to base warranty.
