I.R.I.S. has updated its flagship Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software.

Readiris Pro 11 is available in different versions: Readiris Pro and Readiris Pro Corporate Edition for Windows, Readiris Pro and Readiris Pro Corporate Edition for Mac and Readiris Pro CE Asian Version and Readiris Pro CE Eastern Version (windows only).

Readiris Pro 11 promises to be a powerful productivity booster for flatbed scanners, all-in-one devices and digital cameras. It retypes scanned documents and image files and converts PDF files in editable text, maintaining the original layout and offering top-class speed and OCR accuracy.

Readiris Pro 11 Corporate Edition is pitched at professional users and businesses that need to efficiently convert volumes of documents. It supports high-end scanners, all-in-one devices and digital copiers and generates fully searchable PDF files. It is designed as an ideal for businesses who need to supply their Electronic Document Management system with PDF archives offering an optimised size and full text search capabilities.

Some key new features include 99.9 per cent accuracy, the ability to create four types of PDF files (image over text, text over image or text or image only) and optimise the file size for an easier archiving and sharing. You can also capture the information locked in PDF files and incorporate them into editable documents.

Multiple output formats include RTF, HTML, PDF, TEXT and the like. Readiris Pro reproduces all text formatting including columns, paragraphs, titles, bullets, tables and graphics, and the brushed metal user interface guides you through the recognition steps.

Bar code reading capabilities allow you to draw a bar code zone and the bar code information will automatically be retyped, and the unique handprinting recognition engine lets you write your own personal notes and scan them. The configurable toolbar lets you show, hide, and change the location of the toolbar icons.

Readiris Pro 11 offers six user interface languages (English, French, Dutch, German, Italian and Spanish) and recognises up to 118 languages. In other words, with Readiris Pro 11, all your paper documents will be recognised and converted to editable text faster, easier and more accurately.
