Power outages suck big time, especially if you live in a small village and electricity suppliers dont even know you exist.
Xantrex Technology is here to the rescue! The company has introduced the Xantrex XPower PowerSource 400, a backup solution with extended runtime for the small office and home office (SOHO) market. This launches a new category for the XPower by Xantrex line of power products.
Xantrexs XPower PowerSource 400 is a stand-alone power solution that can provide up to 8 hours of uninterrupted electricity during a power outage. The XPower unit will support a laptop computer, Internet modem, inkjet printer, cordless phone, small light source, or any other essential small office device. It should be an ideal source of electricity in a home, in a small office, or at a remote location with unreliable utility power.
The XPower PowerSource 400 provides extended runtime, so people can continue working through a power outage and remain productive. The average power outage lasts between three and four hours and a fully charged XPower PowerSource 400 can provide up to 8 hours of power, depending on the devices being used. Until now, backup power products for the SOHO market provided limited runtime that only allowed enough time to save computer data.
The device is permanently connected to a wall outlet and up to five electronic devices can be plugged into the XPower unit. When the power goes out, the XPower PowerSource 400 should seamlessly switch to backup power allowing continuous operation of the connected electronic devices.
Xantrex is proud to partner with two large consumer electronics companies with this innovative new product category. Starting this month, the Xantrex XPower PowerSource 400 will be available at leading consumer electronics retailer Best Buy, and will be distributed by the worlds largest technology wholesaler, Ingram Micro. It can also be purchased
online and costs $199 (£115).
