Toshiba 0.85-inch 4GB HDD

Never before has something so small held so much. Toshiba continues to push the envelope on small form factor storage with its latest market introduction, a multi-gigabyte hard disk drive (HDD) that is just 0.85-inches in diameter.

Only a quarter the size of a 1.8-inch hard disk drive and about the size of a postage stamp, the MK4001MTD will boost the functionality of a new generation of products, including mobile phones, digital audio players, PDAs, digital still cameras, camcorders and more.

Mounting dimensions are 0.94x1.26-inches, with a thickness of 0.197-inches. The drive uses 0.12-Watts in standby and 0.60-Watts during write operations. Running on 3.0-Volts over the 0° to 70°C temperature range, it has one platter, two heads, and a 3600rpm rotational speed.
