Holophone has unveiled a new version of its H2-Pro Microphone. The H2-PRO, capable of recording up to 7.1 channels of discrete surround sound, is now offered with enhanced low frequency effects (LFE).
With the enhanced LFE, the H2-PRO effectively permits a higher output level of deep bass information without imposing on the performance or levels of the rest of the system, says the company.
Sweet for instant capture of live surround sound for all professional audio applications, the H2-PRO is available at a special price of $5499 (£3182) through May 15, and will be on display at the NAB Convention in Las Vegas, April 24 to 27 (Booth #3931). Holophone will also donate $500 from each unit sold to ONE, the worlds leading organisation in the fight against world poverty.
We are thrilled to be launching our enhanced microphone, says Jonathan Godfrey, CEO of Holophone. One unit is usually all that is required to capture the ambience of any event or venue and deliver that being there experience to the viewer. More importantly, we get to help a great cause. The fight against world hunger is crucial and we are happy to be on the front line.
As a single point-source, the H2-PRO utilises the theories of head related transfer function (HRTF) to capture 7.1 channels of discrete surround-sound audio in a single unit. The enhanced H2-PRO features eight XLR microphone connectors, which are entirely compatible with all multichannel I/O devices.
It is also compatible with all surround-sound encoding/playback formats (Dolby, DTS, Circle Surround, IMAX, and so on). An upgrade program is available for current H2-PRO owners.
