ASUS has today officially announced a new laptop range that incorporates the latest and most advanced Intel Centrino Duo Mobile technology for increased performance and multitasking capability.
Not only that, but the W2J has also met the stringent criteria to wear the Dolby Home Theater label that delivers a vivid surround sound experience for mobile entertainment.
In addition, the A7J features Dolby Digital Live, a real-time audio technology that transforms gameplay. The laptops have been designed with todays busy urban lifestyles in mind, integrating a feature-rich digital device into both work and personal entertainment.
ASUS A7J and W2J are based on the new Intel Centrino Mobile Technology Duo platform. The dual-core processing capabilities offers desktop level computing performance such as faster processing and high quality video/audio enjoyment, while enabling high mobility and better productivity, with smaller form factor and longer battery life.
For four decades Dolby has been at the forefront of defining high-quality audio technologies that make the entertainment experience more true-to-life, engaging and immersive. Dolby Home Theater provides a true Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound experience and places laptop users in the middle of the action.
Using a suite of Dolby technologies it can deliver a vivid surround sound experience from stereo content including movies, MP3 files and games - and do this via headphones, two speakers or 5.1 speakers. In addition, the W2J has the capability to create DVDs with 2-channel Dolby Digital audio.
Dolby Digital Live converts any stereo or multi-channel audio signal to Dolby Digital during gameplay, immersing players in high-quality surround sound that puts them at the centre of the action. Gamers hear every window shatter, feel every explosion, and experience every wipeout. In addition, it enables the A7J to be hooked up to an A/V receiver or digital speaker system via a single digital connection, eliminating the confusion of multiple cables and ensuring the integrity of the audio signal.
The A7J (£1399) sports a 17-inch WXGA display, Intel Dual Core T2400 processor, Intel 3945 802.11a/b/g, Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset, ATi X1600 256MB, digital/analogue TV tuner, 1024MB DDRII 667 SDRAM, 1.3-Megapixel camera, 100GB HDD, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet. The W2J (£1999) ups the ante with a T2500 processor and 120GB HDD.
