Kingston Technology has today announced the launch of its 2GB U3 DataTraveler - a U3 powered USB smart drive. Set to become this years hottest consumer storage gadget, the U3 DataTraveler claims the ultimate in storage and personal data management for todays sophisticated digital media users.
Available in capacities of up to 2GB and smaller than a packet of chewing gum - the new Kingston Technology U3 DataTraveler features pre-loaded software designed to streamline a host of everyday activities.
This neat little gadget enables you to edit and share photographs, automatically populate forms, as well as generate, manage and secure passwords. It even brings the future a step closer by allowing you to read and interact with digital publications.
By including the U3 smart drive computing platform, Kingston Technology has transformed a USB flash drive from a simple storage device into a must have consumer storage gadget.
For the first time consumers have a sophisticated device that will enable them to carry, store and launch their own U3-based applications from any PC no matter where they are - at home, work or on the move.
The U3 platform was specifically chosen as it makes software programs, personal preferences, passwords, settings and files more portable, personal and protected. The Kingston Technology U3 smart drive also features the U3 Launchpad that allows applications to be opened and managed on Windows 2000/XP.
The Kingston Technology U3 DataTraveler smart drive comes with Pass2Go, ACDSee and Zinio software packages. The Pass2Go portable automated password manager, form filler and password generator offers users secure, automated logins to online accounts and completes online registration forms with a single click. No trace of Pass2Go is left on any computer and it encrypts passwords (and generates random passwords) for complete data security.
The ACDSee image viewer, graphics converter and digital imaging software solution, enables you to acquire, organise, edit, manage and share photos and slideshows from any PC. ACDSee supports JPEG, BPM, TIFF, GIFF and PNG file formats.
Zinio reader transforms print magazines into digital content, offering the look and feel of print in the more convenient digital format. This means publications are always accessible both online and offline - plus with fully interactive links to flash, video and audio clips, users have the ability to search, highlight, bookmark, annotate, print and more.
Zinio lets you receive up to four free issues of five popular titles of digital publications and can then subscribe to additional titles at substantial discounts over newsstand prices. Likewise, Kingston Technologys U3 users can upgrade to enhanced versions of the Pass2Go and ACDSee software packages at 50 to 60 per cent off the retail price.
The 1GB Kingston U3 DataTraveler Smart Drive costs £25, while the 2GB U3 DataTraveler Smart Drive will set you back £55.
