The Epson GT-2500 (£620) is a high productivity scanner for professional archiving and document management. Ideal for business workgroups, it is designed to provide high-quality scanning up to 1200dpi (optical resolution) at a fast scanning speed, up to 27 pages per minute in black and white and 11 in colour.

It features several productivity enhancing features such as Twain and ISIS drivers for easy integration into document management systems; High speed USB 2.0 connectivity and a 50 page automatic document feeder with 2-pass automatic duplexing.

Also available is the Epson GT-2500 Plus which includes additional software to help you manage your business documents, for example, PageManager 7, Bizcard OCR 5.0, and Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard. The GT-2500 functionalities can be further increased with the optional Epson Network Image Express Card allowing you to share your digital documents across a local area network.

The GT-2500 delivers an optical resolution of 1200x1200dpi, for high-quality colour scans and clear, sharp text. Where you need to scan photos with increased definition and high-colour reproduction, an interpolated resolution of 9600dpi is available. A descreening filter automatically optimises the scanning resolution, ensuring your scans have smooth colour gradients. Epson Automatic Document Enhancement technology (ADE) sharpens text to provide you with the same quality as the original. You can also remove the background on your scan if an image on the reverse side of the page is visible, for example if you are scanning from a newspaper.

Scanning bound documents is easy with the new auto-hold lid. The lid features a free-stop hinge, which means that it will remain open at any angle between 15 and 70 degrees. The 50 page, two pass duplex, Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) allows you to scan large batches of documents. The ADF is also extremely reliable offering you peace of mind for your business.

Further increase your productivity with the program assignment button. By programming it to scan your files to your most regularly used application, you simply need to press one button each time you use your GT-2500. With Page Manager 7, available in the GT-2500 Plus, you can also scan directly to email, fax, printer, OCR, Microsoft Office, network folders and Enterprise document management system.

Adobe Acrobat 7.0 software, also available with the GT-2500 Plus, provides an easy way to create and share, secure and reliable, Adobe PDF documents. Presto! BizCard 5.0 software is an accurate business card organizer and contact manager. It expertly handles most European card layouts, stores the images in a database and allocates the data to the correct fields.
