Dell's 1800MP Projects XGA Performance

Building on the company’s projector line, Dell today introduced the 1800MP projector designed to deliver high quality image and text reproduction to businesses, educators and consumers across Europe, Middle East and Africa (US customers can get it too!).

With a starting price of £649 (ex. VAT and delivery), the 1800MP is pitched as an ideal projector for customers seeking excellent value and the vivid image performance of XGA resolution (1024x768 pixels) which is optimal for presentations in small-to-medium sized meeting rooms and classroom environments.

The 1800MP projector delivers 63 per cent more pixels compared to SVGA, resulting in a more dynamic picture with absolute clarity. Powered by Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology for true reproduction of colours, it also features 2100 ANSI lumens (maximum) brightness suitable for lights-on presentations.

Businesses and educational organisations will also benefit from the 1800MP’s consistent high quality images when connected to a PC, DVD player or other source, plus additional features such as password protection and integrated zoom lens.

Michael Buck, Director, Software and Peripherals, Dell EMEA said, “Businesses of all sizes, schools and higher education institutions are finding new ways to utilise projectors for high quality image reproduction and digital content, to make presentations more dynamic. The 1800MP is feature-rich and adaptable to different environments with the impact of high definition, high resolution images that customers have come to expect from Dell but without a premium price tag.”

The 1800MP features integrated video and audio ports, including dual VGA ports for simple switching from one presenter to another, therefore reducing set-up time in meetings, seminars and presentations. Weighing 2.1kg (4.6lbs), the 1800MP is lightweight and offers customers the flexibility to easily move the projector from room to room.

For full multimedia presentations and audio-visual applications, the 1800MP can connect to a digital camera or DVD player, and offers audio-in and audio-out ports for connection to external speakers. The 1800MP also supports the full range of television and video standards enabling personal home entertainment applications, as well as business uses.

The 1800MP is designed to connect easily with Dell Latitude and Inspiron laptop computers, as well as most other personal computers. Additional features and specifications of the 1800MP projector include dual VGA ports, composite video and S-video, VGA-out, integrated audio-in/out ports, desktop or ceiling mountable for front or rear projection, and an eco-mode option for quieter operation that can extend the bulb life up to 3000 hours (typical bulb life 2500 hours).

There are also selectable presentation modes to get the most from the projector (PC Mode, sRGB Mode, Movie Mode, Game Mode, Custom Mode), and you also get a carrying case, remote control, VGA cable and power cord. The unit is backed by a standard 2-year Next Business Day Whole Unit Exchange (90 days on bulb).
