Brother's Stylish New AIOs Suit Homeworkers

More than 8 million people in the UK are now working from home - either running their own business or working part of the week away from the office, according to a Microsoft/YouGov poll (February 2006).

In response to this growing trend, office technology manufacturer Brother is launching a brand new range of products designed to give homeworkers business-quality technical support in a stylish machine specially designed for the head office at home.

For less than £80, homeworkers can now create an efficient and compact work area and enjoy the same technical benefits as their office based colleagues, without stumbling over large and unnecessary equipment.

Brother’s new range of all-in-one machines combine colour printer, copier, scanner and fax in one compact machine which stands no taller than the average coffee cup providing an ideal space saving solution. Amongst some of the smallest models on the market, Brother’s sleek new design also has a more convenient front-access to ink cartridges making them even easier to change.

Lesley Howe, Brother’s Customer Marcoms Manager said: “These compact machines are perfect for the home office environment providing the homeworker with the same level of technical support as they would have if they were office based. “Recent research has shown that almost a third of consumers buying our inkjet all-in-ones are using them for their home office** therefore we have continued to develop our technology with the homeworker or small office in mind where space is often at a premium.”

Homeworkers can also print quality photographs when used with Brother photo paper and view photographs on the LCD screen, available on six out of the eight models, before printing. For the first time, most models also have a dedicated photo paper tray and come with PictBridge as standard to enable images to be printed directly from a memory card, regardless of brand.

For just £79.99, Brother’s base model, the DCP-130C, has a colour printer, scanner and copier, 100 sheet paper capacity and one year on-site warranty. For £119 the MFC-240C has all the features of the DCP-130C plus a fax function with 40 speed dials and a 10-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF). And for £149, the MFC-440CN has a colour printer, scanner, copier and fax, 80 speed dials and is network ready with a 10 sheet ADF.

Brother also continues to provide free translation software from specialists Systran with its new inkjet range. This converts a scanned document into any one of 11 different languages, ideal for environments where multilingual documentation is needed.
