The latest addition to NEC Computers’ PowerMate range promises a consistently reliable platform, incorporating the latest Intel technology.

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU Support guarantees powerful, energy-efficient performance and ensures users can multi-task without infringing on functionality.

Consuming as little as half of the electricity of previous generation processors, the Intel Core 2 Duo provides improved performance at a lower cost, ensuring the best balance between performance and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

The NEC PowerMate VL270 also includes NEC’s new Ultra Small Form Factor chassis. Designed for easy integration in offices by occupying the minimum amount of space, the chassis is also simple to dismantle for easy maintenance and has a handy, full height PCI slot.

Key features include NEC’s customised production according to individual corporate requirements, as well as warranty options of 1 to 5 years on-site NDB, after-sales support is of ‘Gold’ quality as standard. NEC also touts a chassis’ complete security system (Kensington security slot, anti-theft ring, anti-intrusion button, optional electro-magnetic lock) and data security solution (optional biometric scanner, and more). It may also be equipped with software security solutions (NEC Managed Antivirus, Stormshield behavioural analysis application and Safeboot access control).

Protection and respect for the environment are fundamental values of the NEC Group. Like the entire PowerMate range, the PowerMate VL270 also complies with this approach by limiting the impact on the environment during the manufacture and utilisation of its products. NEC Computers has implemented a number of environmental management policies, which are complemented by the arrival of the new Small Form Factor, designed to be easy to recycle and dismantle at the end of its useful life.

Very discreet and economical, the level of noise produced by the NEC PowerMate VL270 is barely audible thanks to the use of a BTX form factor, claims NEC. The improved ventilation of the components allows for a lower system temperature and in-turn a lowered electrical consumption.
