Genius’ Media Pointer should come in useful for road warriors.
Sporting 2.4GHz wireless technology, time management and media mode functions, it lets you move around an auditorium with confidence while presenting. It works within a 15-meter range and the anti-interference function should prevent you from talk downtime.
A really, really neat feature is the built-in LCD timer with a beep that alerts you when 30 seconds are left and when the time is up - how we wish all presenters had one of these! With this helpful function, you can manage your time easily. In addition, the LCD also shows battery life.
The package includes the Wireless Media Pointer, Mini USB receiver, User’s manual and x2 AAA batteries. Operating systems supported include Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, 2003, Mac OS X or higher. There’s no news on the company’s Web site regarding Vista. You’ll also need a spare USB port.
The Media Pointer offers two operating modes. Presentation mode lets you toggle the laser pointer on and off, go to next page, press F5/ESC, and set time (up/down). Media mode also lets you toggle the laser pointer on and off, but you can also skip audio tracks, alter volume levels. It costs £25.52 (ex. VAT) and is available now.
