Good Technology, Inc., the leading provider of industry standards-based enterprise handheld computing software and service, today announced that one of the UK’s leading law firms, asb law, has chosen GoodLink(TM) running on the Palm(R) Treo(TM) 600 smartphone as its enterprise wireless messaging solution. asb law’s 50 partners and senior managers now have a fully secure, two-way, wirelessly synchronised connection to corporate email, calendar, contacts, notes and tasks contained within their Microsoft Exchange system.

asb law was formed in 1999 and has 45 partners and over 300 legal and support staff in its offices in the South East. Previously, when out of the office, partners had to carry around laptops and wait for an opportunity to dial in to be able to receive email or check their calendar. asb law needed a solution that freed up time for their fee earners to concentrate on what they do best, while keeping IT costs manageable: real-time wireless email that didn’t have to rely on expensive laptops. The company also wanted to ensure that its partners could use the best new mobile devices, especially the Palm Treo smartphone.

One of the most important factors for choosing GoodLink was its industry standards-based approach which allowed a choice of devices to be offered to users, something not offered by other enterprise-class competitors. Asb law worked with reseller ADA to implement GoodLink running on Palm Treo smartphones on the Orange network.

Beyond just mobile email, senior partners at asb law also need to be able to access other important documents and applications while out of the office. For that reason asb law is also working with ADA to employ GoodAcess to further increase the productivity of its mobile workers. GoodAccess allows key back-office applications to be delivered to the handheld. By utilising GoodAccess, asb law will be able to create mobile applications which will enable partners to fill in timesheets and expenses on the move.
