Pavilion Technologies Boasts East Kansas Agri-Energy Production by 12 Percent

Pavilion Technologies, a world leader in model-based software, today announced that East Kansas Agri-Energy is expected to achieve an estimated annual value of well over $2.5 million through the deployment of Pavilion's Ethanol Solution at its Garnett, Kansas plant. The success of this project further bolsters Pavilion's leadership position in delivering significant value to the ethanol industry.

East Kansas Agri-Energy deployed Pavilion's Dryer Application to optimise efficiency across production processes including the dryer and cook section of the plant's dry mill. Through this installation, Pavilion has enabled the plant to increase yield of dried distillers grain with solubles (DDGS) and wet distillers grain with solubles (WDGS). DDGS and WDGS are byproducts of ethanol production that are commonly sold as livestock feed and represent a significant source of revenue for ethanol manufacturers. Pavilion's solution also continuously stabilizes temperatures during production to reduce energy costs.

"The results we have achieved with Pavilion have far exceeded our expectations," said East Kansas Agri-Energy plant manager, Doug Sommer. "Pavilion's Ethanol Solution has given us the edge we need to boost our production capacity, with minimal additional investment in plant equipment."

As a result of deploying Pavilion's Ethanol Solution, East Kansas Agri-Energy achieved the following specific benefits:

· 12 percent increase in ethanol production

· 12 percent increase in throughput

· 9.9 percent increase in energy efficiency

· 3.3 percent reduction in standard deviation in dryer moisture

"The tremendous success of East Kansas Agri-Energy's deployment is further validation of Pavilion's ability to deliver fast, bottom-line benefits to the ethanol industry," said Pavilion Technologies CEO, Ralph Carter.
"Pavilion is proud to contribute to the growth and profitability of innovative companies like East Kansas."

About Pavilion's Ethanol Solution

Pavilion's Ethanol Solution has helped 20 major ethanol producers increase production capacity and yield, reduce costs, enhance product quality and maintain environmental compliance. Pavilion provides a suite of control, environmental compliance and performance management applications across all key areas of the ethanol production process - fermentation, dryer, evaporator, thermal oxidizer, mole sieve and distillation. Pavilion's Ethanol Solution leverages Pavilion8®, a modular software platform based on a modern Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and predictive modeling analytic engine. Pavilion8 combines powerful technology for modeling, control, monitoring, analysis, warehousing, visualization and integration to provide ethanol solutions with a faster time-to-value and greater sustained value than alternatives.

About East Kansas Agri-Energy (http://www.ekaellc.com)

For such a young entity, East Kansas Agri-Energy, LLC, in Garnett, Kansas has a long history of progressive thinking. What began as a committee of farmers and businesspeople interested in building a value-added ethanol production facility quickly resulted in a full-scale ethanol plant capable of grinding 13 million bushels of corn, producing 35 million gallons of ethanol, and generating more than 170,000 tons of wet and distillers dried grain per year.

The plant was completed in eight months-an industry record-and produced its first gallon of ethanol in June 2005. A second industry record was set when the plant went on-line to full production status in three days.
