DataViz's latest software application for Palm-powered handhelds and smartphones is the first commercially available software solution to provide secure, wireless and direct synchronisation with Microsoft's Exchange Server 2003.
Based on the Exchange ActiveSync protocol licensed from Microsoft, RoadSync thereby promises to extend the existing mobile benefits of Exchange Server 2003 to reach non-Microsoft devices such as the popular palmOne Treo 600 and 650 smartphones.
RoadSync for Palm-powered devices offers access to corporate Outlook e-mail, complete with attachments. With RoadSync, companies who rely on Exchange Server 2003 for their corporate data should be able to use the software to utilise their existing investment and deploy a low-cost mobility strategy for their workforce without the need for any middleware servers.
'With our award-winning mobile Office suite, Documents To Go, combined with our new RoadSync solution, our aim is to provide premium solutions that mobilize 'Office Life',' said Ilya Eliashevsky, DataViz'. As more businesses adopt a wireless strategy, we are pleased to provide more Palm-powered devices found in the market today with a cost-effective, easy-to-deploy solution for direct and secure access to corporate Outlook e-mail along with attachments.'
In addition to RoadSync for Palm Powered devices, editions of RoadSync are now also available for select Symbian UIQ and Java MIDP 2.0 mobile handsets. Licenses ranging from $49.99 to $99.99 per user are available. Editions supporting Symbian OS-based Series 60 and Series 80 platforms will be available later this year, according to the company.
Details regarding features supported with each edition of RoadSync along with information about licensing, system requirements, free trials and pilot programs can be found at
