Actinic, one of the UK's best known e-commerce software supplier, is moving into the publishing business. Well, not quite, but the company's latest initiative to help small and medium-sized businesses succeed on the Internet is a brand new publication: 'Selling successfully online - Over 120 top tips'.
The 62-page book promises a comprehensive and generic checklist of considerations for online start-ups, existing bricks and mortar companies looking to expand online, and even businesses who already have an e-commerce facility, but may be looking to improve their e-service offering. The book is available online only from
www.actinic.co.uk/shop/acatalog/shop.html.
The new book offers vendor-neutral ideas and sound professional advice, condensed into an easily digestible format. Subjects covered include 'Introduction to selling online', 'Marketing your Web site', 'Security and the law', 'Shipping', 'Customer relationship management', and 'Last thoughts'. Each section contains tips that the authors, Actinic CEO Chris Barling and marketing manager Bruce Townsend, have developed from the 15 years' experience they have between them.
Founded in 1996, Actinic produces e-commerce software for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that want to sell online. Its products include Actinic Developer, Actinic Business, Actinic Catalog and Actinic Audio Store. According to the company, over 50 per cent of SMEs using packaged software to run their e-stores use Actinic.
