PCE Total Immersion Workspace

Personal Computing Environments's (PCE) Total Immersion PCE puts you in the centre of an ultra-comfortable, explosive multimedia gaming experience.

The company's second-generation ergonomic computing environment has been designed to turn the idea of a gaming or computer station inside out, making users the comfortable centrepiece of a personalised command centre.

The Total Immersion PCE environment looks like the perfect high-tech way for users to create a sci-fi computing world in their home. The device will place you into the centre of an application with surround sound, multiple monitors and gaming platforms, and a killer Freedom Chair that conforms to your movements. Could it bring a whole new dimension of reality and enjoyment to gaming?

The device is fully adjustable from footrest to monitors, and promises to be ultra-comfortable for extended playing. And it's not limited to gaming: one person's ultimate gaming environment is another's ergonomic workstation or personal home theatre.

Apart from looking good, there are actually ergonomic benefits in the design. The PCE frame has its own integrated ergonomic chair, though once inside the frame there are a few more adjustments than your average ergonomic chair has – like on your back, for example.

A striking C-styled frame design extends one or more LCD monitors directly overhead and in front of the user, and a 5.1 digital THD sound package can be added to surround users in multimedia nirvana. The modular design and C-Channel should make it 'easy' to integrate new platforms, PCs and entertainment devices.

The Total Immersion PCE environment (from $2750) comprises a PCE frame, choice of colour (Black, Blue, Red, Metallic Silver), Freedom Chair by Humanscale, single monitor mount (VESA 75- and 100mm), and custom cable package (DVI or VGA and two PS2 extensions). The 5.1 Digital THD system costs an additional $200.
