Makayama Interactive has released Easy WiFi Radar. The software allows you to find and connect to open wireless access points with a single mouseclick, claims the company.
It should connect to hotspots fully automatically and alos tries the free ones first. The software could be the perfect WiFi-tool for frequent travellers and mobile professionals.
WiFi is everywhere. There are paid hotspots, but also an growing number of free access points. In hotels, at airports, coffee houses and even entire cities such as San Francisco and Chicago are planning free Wi-Fi access.
The software is designed to help you get your mail and browse the Web without connection charges. It will look for the free access points first and connects to them without any user intervention.
If you've ever tried to use Windows XP's built-in connection manager, you know what a hassle it can be to quickly get online on the road. You need to browse through a list of access points, find one that you can connect to, manually try to connect to it, confirm the connection and then wait. Even if it says that's it connected, often it doesn't open a Web page or your mail will stall.
Easy WiFi Radar automates all of this. It's main goal is to let you get your mail or surf the Web for free without having to go through all of the connection trouble. Just run it and wait for Web browser to open - you're then ready to surf the Web. The
free tryout version allows you to make 20 sucessfull Internet connections for a period of maximum 10 days.
The retail price is £19.95 and the software is available through the Makayama Web store and major online retailers such as Handango.
