Say you live in London and the friends you love to jam with live in Birmingham, Cornwall and Glasgow. Or youre in New York and your band mates live in Nashville, Miami and Chicago. How can you make music together when youre so far away? Jam over the Net of course!
eJamming has announced the release of Version 1.0 of its online music collaboration software. The companys expansion into the PC market now gives all musicians with any level of experience, a computer, a broadband Internet connection and a MIDI-enabled instrument the ability to jam in real-time with other musicians around the world.
Available for both Mac and PCs, the company is also set to launch a new internal sound bank designed by Sonic Implants that will enable musicians to select from a wide array of sounds which makes jamming online easier to use.
eJammings patented eJamming Station works by managing the inherent delays that the Internet creates during the exchange of information between computers, minimising latency and allowing musicians to jam with each other. Everybody hears what everyone else is playing at each location in sync, in real-time, or as close to real time as the laws of physics allow.
The software also caters to musicians of all levels of playing ability by offering different venues, stages, and open jam sessions. Musicians will also be able to create private jams and stages to work on their own bands material, and even audition other eJamming members on special Leader Stages.
The launch of the eJamming software for the PC opens the doors for millions of potential users, explains eJammings President Alan Glueckman. Our goal is to build an online community of musicians around the world who will be able to collaborate, share ideas, and create music by simply plugging in their instruments into their home computer.
'It can even be used as a productive tool among members of the music business who need to collaborate with others across the country. Its truly innovative software that promises to change the way people make music.
eJamming, Inc. is also launching the new version of its Web site (www.eJamming.com) which will boast a new aesthetic feel, in-depth user interface, user profiles, MP3 archives of jam sessions, and an interactive community forum. With these added features we hope to establish a true community where making music with others across the country is not only easy and fun, but effectively changes the lifestyle of musicians around the world, concluded eJammings CEO, Gail Kantor.
