Genius Infrared Web Camera

Taiwan-based Genius is offering a new infrared Web camera for those who enjoy perving chatting away the long night hours. But if you have got a legitimate, non-creepy reason you want to record video in infrared, this may be answer.

The VideoCAM Trek 310 (85x60x120mm, 90g) is intended to produce high-quality pictures and sound even in a room with poor lighting conditions, such as when you want to chat with a family member or a friend late in the evening and don’t want to disturb anyone.

The new camera will deliver pictures in VGA (640x480 pixels) with 32-bit colour depth, and stills can be produced up to a resolution of 1.3-Megapixels (1280x960). Up to 30 frames per second can be transmitted via a USB connection to the computer, and switchover to infrared is automatic when the light conditions warrant.

The Trek 310 was designed with a special base, and it can stand or hang on an LCD monitor. The camera is available now for £20 ($35).
