Evesham Wi-Fi Gadget Sets Your Music Free

Does your PC have hundreds of downloaded music tracks, albums full of holiday pictures and the odd wedding video taking up storage space? And what would you do if your hard disk drive (HDD) failed?

Evesham is offering a neat way to ensure all of your valued music, photo, video and data files are easily accessible and always backed up.

The MBox is a compact and stylish storage device that incorporates an MBridge network music player (basically a Roku SoundBridge) for multi-room wireless audio streaming. You can browse your entire music library via the MBridge in any room remotely without even switching on your PC.

The MBox is a small device that’s big on storage. Each MBox is supplied with two hard disks which are mirrored for real-time duplication of your data, providing essential backup with immediate disaster recovery. Thankfully, backup software is supplied as standard, so you can schedule backups whenever you choose.

Once you’ve downloaded your favourite music (compatible with iTunes and the majority of MP3 formats) to your PC you can then transfer your collection to the MBox. Using your existing Wi-Fi network the snazzy MBox then streams your digital music library to up to five MBridges to spread the love throughout your home. Plugging the MBridge adapter into any hi-fi or powered speaker system allows you to listen to different music in a number of rooms.

Controlling music on the MBridge should be a snap. It displays song, album, artist, genre or composer information. Using the relatively large MBridge display you can even control your music from across the room with a wireless remote control. Unlike some rival systems the MBox and MBridge are also compatible with Internet radio (PC with Internet connection required).

The system goes on sale 15 February. An MBox with two 160GB HDDs and an MBridge retails for £599. Additional MBridges cost £149 each and a choice of HDD sizes are available. Evesham also offer a full range of speakers systems. The MBox includes a 2-year on-site warranty backed by Evesham’s service and support.
