PC Power & Cooling 1000-Watt PSU

In the quest for maximum PC performance, you cannot have too much of a good thing. Overclockers have shown us that two video cards are better than one, as are two hard disk drives.

PC Power & Cooling’s Turbo-Cool 1KW is the first consumer-level power supply unit (PSU) to break the kilowatt mark. This is an incredible feat, but given this power supply’s large price tag (£278/$489), you really should make sure you need all that power.

Developed to power next-generation graphics and ultra high-performance servers, the SLI-ready Turbo-Cool 1KW delivers a conservatively-rated 1000 watts (one kilowatt) of continuous power with a peak of 1100 watts! Yikes!

The proven, upscale technology behind the 1KW was first introduced in its predecessor, the Turbo-Cool 850 SSI. The Turbo-Cool 1KW’s added power was achieved by optimising the thermal efficiency of the power modules and upgrading key components throughout the unit to handle the additional current.

The result is an EPS12V/SLI/SSI power supply with unprecedented output (66 amps total on the +12VDC rails) in a form factor that fits most ATX cases. Truly, the ultimate computer power supply for power freaks….

Each Turbo-Cool 1KW comes with its own individual, comprehensive test report generated by our Chroma 8000 ATE.
