Just getting your head and wallet around SLI? Well, nVidia has today announced that Quad SLI technology is now available from the worlds top system builders.
These new PCs, certified for Quad SLI technology, feature four graphics processing units (GPUs) from the of the newly announced GeForce 7900 Series with a nVidian Force 4 SLI motherboard.
Designed for extreme high-definition (HD) gaming, Quad SLI technology involves the use of four GPUs that are combined using proprietary rendering algorithms.
The graphics horsepower generated in a PC using Quad SLI technology allows gamers to set their monitors to extreme HD resolutions, including an incredible 2560x1600 pixels, while still maintaining silky smooth frame rates.
In addition, support for a new 32x anti-aliasing mode, and 16x anisotropic filtering should enable stunning visuals and image quality for a truly immersive gaming experience.
At the foundation of nVidias Quad SLI technology is the GeForce 7 graphics architecture which delivers advanced technologies including full support for Microsofts DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0, enabling advanced shading programs for more realistic effects, and nVidias PureVideo technology, delivering a high-definition home-theatre quality video experience to the PC.
Quad SLI technology is also optimised for the upcoming Microsoft Windows Vista, the first operating system to require a dedicated GPU to realise its full potential.
Certified PCs featuring nVidia Quad SLI technology are available for purchase immediately or will be available from some of the worlds leading high performance system builders, including ABS, (US), Alienware (US), Atelco (Germany), Biohazard (US), Cyberpower (US), Dell (US), Falcon Northwest (US), Hypersonic (US), Hyrican (Germany), iBuypower (US), ICODA ( Korea), Komplett (Sweden), Kraftway (Russia), LCDC (France), MCJ (Japan), Multirama (Greece), Overdrive PC (US), Polywell (US), Scan (UK), Synnex-Mitac (Australia), Thirdwave (Japan), Velocity Micro (US), Vicious PC (US), and Voodoo (US).
