Group 3 Technology Landline/VoIP Phone

The world’s first plug & go broadband Internet phone with built-in landline telephone number has been launched this week by UK-based Group 3 Technology.

The aptly named ePhone heralds leading VoIP technology in one simple, easy-to-use device that claims to be high on customer convenience. Group 3 Technology firmware also uses patented technology which is not Peer-to-Peer.

The unique automatic provisioning and activation should make the ePhone easy to install, and therefore very appealing to both users and operators.

The appeal of this innovative phone is that anyone in the world can use it, there is no need to stress over loading or downloading software, no concerns of being the victim of a virus or a hacker as you don’t need a computer.

The built-in landline telephone number means if you move house or country, the phone and number will move with you, regardless of location. Send an ePhone to your relatives abroad and talk for free forever. Neat!

For calls to conventional landlines and mobiles, the low cost ‘pay-as-you-go’ philosophy means no monthly contract or line rental and makes the ePhone ideal as a second line.

For VoIP operators and resellers, ePhones’ design makes it compatible with, but goes beyond, conventional IAX2 amd SIP networks. Not only does it reduce bandwidth usage, it also reduces infrastructure costs by removing the requirement for Proxy or STUN servers. Automatic provisioning and activation, secure billing and PSTN connectivity all adds to ePhones’ appeal. We’re convinced!
