Antec, best known for its PC tuning peripherals, has launched its first MicroBTX case. The BK640B promises optimal performance and quiet computing for todays high-powered components such as motherboards, processors and video cards.
The BTX chassis was built from the ground up to take full advantage of BTXs advanced thermal designs.
It features BTX Support Retention Module (SRM), a metal plate that has been attached inside the case to support the Thermal Module and allow for better cooling and quieter operation. The case also has two optional rear 92mm fans to help keep even the hottest high performance components cool.
The case supports MicroBTX form factor motherboards with a maximum board width of 264mm. It also comes equipped with the 380-Watt Universal Input Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) ATX12V 2.0 power supply unit (PSU). This PFC ensures high efficiency within the system, says the company.
For maximum expandability, the case also provides six drive bays - two 3.5-inch internal, two 5.25-inch external and two 3.5-inch external. Additionally, the chassis includes several conveniently front mounted ports - two external USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire port and audio connectors.
As ATX reaches its thermal capabilities, BTX will continue to increase in popularity, said Scott Richards, Antecs senior vice president. Our introduction of the BK640B exemplifies that we continuously adapt our product offerings in order to ensure we meet the computing needs of all our users.
The BK640B is presently available for an estimated street price of £62 through major retailers, e-tailers and distributors, and is backed by Antecs Quality 3-Year Warranty.
