Sony Gets Flash With New Walkman

Sony’s latest addition to it Walkman family is the E000 range of digital music players.

The flash-based memory ‘sticks’ are ultra compact, but manage to store up to 90 CDs (2GB) with around 28 hours playback time from a single charge and allow high speed transfer with a PC via the built in USB connector.

The E000 range has multi-format compatibility playing MP3, Sony’s ATRAC3 and WMA files. They also feature a quick charge function - generating 3 hours playback from a 3 minute charge - ideal if you’ve got to head out for a brief gym session or a daily commute.

The Walkman is compatible with most commonly used digital music formats like MP3, ATRAC and unsecured WMA (non DRM) files. It offers easy download capabilities by direct connection through the USB port. Each player comes with the latest SonicStage 3.4 software version for easy music management and transfer of listeners’ favourite tracks.

Combining cutting-edge style with excellent battery power, Sony’s new range is available with capacities ranging from 512MB to 1GB and 2GB. The slimline Walkman builds on the design success of its predecessors by providing a compact polycarbonate ‘stick’ in a range of vibrant colours (pink, violet, black, blue, silver and lime green).

The device launches with a new range of stylish accessories including neck strap headphones, protective case, and an armband case for listeners on-the-go. An FM tuner is also built-in.
