SafeBoot has expanded its line of USB security devices with three new USB memory products.
Silhouette is a USB device featuring fingerprint authentication, Phantom is a driverless and zero-footprint USB device, whereas Rhino is a driverless, zero-footprint external hard disk drive.
Whats so neat about the devices is SafeBoots encryption which makes the info stored on memory sticks unusable for anyone without the proper authorisation in the event of loss or theft. This makes the USB devices suited for environments with strong demands on data security.
By deploying driverless and zero-footprint technology, integrated biometrics and extended roll-out facilities, SafeBoot says it is responding further to customer demand for this kind of storage product. Also, the recently-introduced SafeBoot for USB Standard is now equipped with new features that enforce data security even more.
USB Silhouette is a memory stick outfitted with fingerprint authentication technology. This biometric solution ensures that the stick is only accessible to pre-authorised users. IT security administrators may add optional password protection to the device - providing two-factor authentication.
USB Phantom was designed especially for environments that place stringent demands on information security. SafeBoot for USB Phantom uses no drivers and can be used on any operating system, allowing users to read their information independent of the working environment, safely and easily. The Phantom is well-suited for consultants who read data on any of their clients systems and governmental authorities where even more strict security policies apply.
USB Phantom uses both fingerprint and password verification. The device also uses a completely autonomous encryption environment - the encryption key is never separated from the stick. Phantom is equipped with token services, allowing for the safe storage of certificates used in PKI environments.
SafeBoot for USB Rhino is designed for use in data-intensive environments. Rhino is equipped with a hard disk, which allows for safe backup and transport of large amounts of data. SafeBoot for USB Rhino uses no drivers and can be used on any operating system. SafeBoot for USB Rhino is available in storage capacities ranging from 20GB to 60GB.
A new version of SafeBoot for USB Standard was released with many new features, including the ability to obscure the file names, multi-user accessibility with each user having access rights, and enhanced enforcement of password policies. If a user forgets a password or leaves the organisation, information can still be retrieved from SafeBoot for USB. SafeBoot does not use one password as a backdoor. Instead, it uses unique, centrally-stored passwords accessible only by IT security administrators.
In combination with SafeBoot Management Center for USB, SafeBoot provides centralised user-profile management. This allows for effortless, company-wide deployment of USB sticks from the SafeBoot for USB line, all of which keep costs of ownership to a minimum. Users have no control over the SafeBoot settings - corporate SafeBoot security administrators maintain complete control of all policies.
SafeBoot Port Control makes information leaks a thing of the past. Using Port Control, IT security administrators determine the peripherals users may attach to their computers. Armed with this powerful tool, systems managers can now block any peripheral other than SafeBoot for USB devices. Since IT security administrators are in control of the SafeBoot for USB devices, users cannot turn off or work around the security system.
SafeBoot for USB is available in capacities from 128MB to 60GB. Prices are available on request.
