AskSam Systems has released Citation 8.2, the latest version of its bibliography and note-taking software. Aimed at students, teachers, professors and researchers, Citation is designed to help you organise your working notes and construct bibliographies.
The software now lets you add notes (single or multiple notes) to any of your bibliographical sources, which are then automatically linked to the appropriate bibliographic source. Another new feature automatically generates note cards from the research you gather, which may prove a useful organiser for your research notes as well as your bibliographical sources.
Citation 8.2 links more effectively to files on your PC than previous versions. These files may comprise text articles, graphics, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, askSam databases, Citation datafiles, Web sites or any file on your computer. Citation can then be used to track revision versions of articles.
Also expanded is Citations Universal StyleGuide. The StyleGuide includes lots of examples for entering bibliographic information on various types of source materials, such as Internet sources and legal materials, which should help you to submit work in the correct scholarly format. Citation 8.2 also adds to the examples of numbered indices matching APA, MLA, and Turabian style guide numbering systems. Theres a new online searchable version of the guide, too.
Citation 8.2 is available as a special edition for legal research and writing, supporting Bluebook, ALWD, and Canadian citation requirements for law reviews as well as court documents. Departmental and university site licenses are available, as are student licenses.
