NetBackup 5.0 Server (previously called NetBackup Business Server) is part of Veritas' utility computing strategy of tailoring software for customers' computing resources, as required by their own spikes in traffic. The software integrates with Veritas' CommandCentral Service, which the company created last year to deliver software as a utility, and Data Lifecycle Manager, which provides data archiving, retention and retrieval. NetBackup 5.0 Server supports an unlimited number of clients and tape storage devices to help protect additional systems and databases.
