Vordel, in conjunction with leading German security solutions firm, SHE Informationstechnologie, implemented a Web Services security solution to enable Südzucker introduce increased business efficiencies into its supply chain distribution and management processes.
Südzucker chose VordelSecure to provide security and management for its XML-based connections to its logistics partners. This was key to the successful enhancement of the companys business intelligence reporting system based on linking its internal SAP platform to the tracking systems of its freight-forwarders, using SAP Exchange Infrastructure. As well as protecting Südzuckers SAP systems from malicious or unauthorized data, VordelSecure also met the requirement to deliver a full transactional audit log and display data traffic on a real-time monitoring console.
Klaus Koddenberg, VP Networks and Systems at Südzucker AG said "Since we created a Web Services environment for our distribution partners to access our internal reporting systems, it was essential that we implemented a security solution capable of addressing the most exacting of security requirements.
With SHE and Vordel we have two world-class partners who delivered a high performance solution to secure this new business-to-business connection, without slowing down the connection or making it prohibitively difficult to connect.
Vic Morris, Vordel CEO, said We welcome the addition of Südzucker AG as a customer and the opportunity to provide the security framework for their mission critical distribution channels.
Thanks to our SAP integration Südzucker can now extract increased returns from their integration systems. The Vordel secured XML infrastructure enables Südzucker to roll out additional business services to partners and customers on an ongoing basis without fear of security being compromised.
SHE Information Technology CEO, Thomas Kohler commented "This deployment is an example of how SHE is extending its security services to cover XML based communications. Working with Vordel we have been able to capitalize on the growing opportunities in this key area of the security market with major enterprises in Germany."
