ForeScout Technologies Joins Microsoft In Support Of Network Access Protection Program |
|
ForeScout Technologies, a leading provider of clientless Network Access Control (NAC) and intrusion prevention solutions, today announced that it has joined the Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) Network Access Protection (NAP) Program. This further demonstrates ForeScouts commitment to ensuring non-disruptive network access control which easily and seamlessly integrates with any enterprise network configuration, while continuing to support industry leading security initiatives.
Network Access Protection is a comprehensive platform infrastructure developed by Microsoft that enables system administrators to monitor and control access to corporate networks and update non-compliant computers. ForeScouts clientless NAC solution supports Network Access Protection by capitalising on the security Microsoft is building into its software to ensure that end users whether employees, partners, contractors or guests comply with corporate policies before accessing the network and its resources. This allows for the enforcement of business policies by transparently granting access to authorised users, while providing a full range of measured enforcement options for non compliant and non authorised users.
To ensure maximum user uptime, organisations must automate the enforcement and remediation of compliance policies to devices both before and after connection to the network, said Mike Schutz, group product manager, Windows Server Division at Microsoft. Microsoft welcomes ForeScouts support in providing fully automated network access control for all devices."
ForeScouts NAC appliance, CounterACT, delivers uptime enforcement by keeping users productive while ensuring network security. This is accomplished through first protecting the network from any self propagating malware with ForeScouts patented ActiveResponse signature-less intrusion prevention technology. With the most dangerous threats immediately detected and blocked, CounterACT interrogates the end point for compliance with network security policies. With a graduated scale of hard and soft enforcement options, ForeScouts solution allows users to remain productive while they are being checked and disconnects them from the network only if they violate critical security policy.
ForeScout is committed to providing innovative clientless network access control and intrusion prevention products that provide non disruptive seamless integration into the enterprise network, while supporting industry security initiatives said Ray Wizbowski, Senior Director of Market Development and Communications. ForeScouts support of Microsofts Network Access Protection program serves to strengthen the ability to provide best-of-class network access control products today and assures interoperability as the industry and Microsoft continues to evolve products with security as a top priority.
