Tribold and Telstra to Showcase Successful Product Transformation at Billing and OSS World 2006

Catherine Michel, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Tribold, and Ernest Margitta, General Manager of Wireless and Mobility at Telstra, will on 3 May tell an audience of senior telecommunications executives how Telstra Corporation, Australia’s leading telecommunications and information services company, is applying advanced business intelligence to lower the time-to-market of its products and services.

Telstra is undergoing an end-to-end business support system (BSS) transformation with product-centric transformation processes at the heart. Tribold is providing its Product Data Management and Product Lifecycle Management solution to bolster Telstra’s business intelligence capabilities and so enhance the way it manages services, products and customers.

Michel and Margitta, who leads Telstra’s BSS transformation, will deliver their talk on Wednesday 3 May at 16:15, conference C6 at Billing and OSS World, Miami Beach Convention Center.

“As communications services providers increasingly become retailers, being able to successfully manage product lifecycles is absolutely key,” said Michel. “Communications service providers need a 360 degree view of their products in order to speed time to market and maximise product success, a process often neglected due to competitive pressures. What Telstra is doing with Tribold will enable far more effective customer management, improved operational efficiency and improved market performance. It represents a pioneering approach from one of the world’s foremost communications service providers and is a significant step in creating a service, customer and product-oriented model.”

Telstra is just one communications service provider deploying Tribold’s Product Portfolio Manager™ (PPM), which combines product data management and product lifecycle management, to further improve its efficiency and competitiveness.

"There is an enormous amount of complexity involved in managing the information associated with each of our products and services,” said Margitta. “This headache is continuing to increase and through the BSS initiative we will address it by taking greater control of what we offer to the market, so that we get the right product to the right customer at the right time."
