Qpass launches TheContentMarket.com

Qpass, a leading digital commerce software and solutions company, today announces the launch of TheContentMarket.com, a new distribution model specifically designed to simplify the process of developing and launching fully functioning mobile content storefronts for tens of thousands of potential mobile content providers.

The service provides amateurs and semi-professional content creators web-based self-service access to an open mobile commerce distribution channel. Content providers can build a fully functioning mobile storefront in minutes, with the added benefit that this professional mobile storefront runs on the content providers own website. Using an intuitive web interface, content providers execute four simple steps: create their account, upload their content, select their favorite mobile storefront from a palette of preconfigured storefront designs, and promote their products across Europe and the USA with a range of merchandising tools.

In addition to providing storefront and content management, TheContentMarket.com also filters content offerings for the appropriate devices and handsets, and handles content delivery, billing, and age verification. No registration fee is required and content providers need only agree to a simple usage contract that includes a code of conduct to avoid abuses of the system.

Christian Lutz, VP TheContentMarket.com for Qpass said: An enormous amount of premium mobile commerce is conducted outside the top 20 percent of content providers. However, participants in this 'long-tail' need a more efficient and inclusive content discovery and distribution solution. For the mobile content market to reach its full potential, small and medium sized content providers need access to world class storefront management and commerce capabilities.

TheContentMarket.com system is tightly integrated with mobile search engines to take advantage of recent advances in mobile search and discovery technologies. In addition, TheContentMarket.com supports all mobile billing environments including premium SMS, WAP premium and direct operator billing.

Christian Lutz continued: The phenomenal success of online marketplaces like eBay and Amazons zShops can be attributed in part to the simplicity of the merchandising tools and storefronts the merchant has at its disposal. These services demonstrate that if the tools are simple to use and widely available, merchants will be empowered to exploit the mobile channel as an effective route to market. Now everyone can sell.

Opening up mobile search and discovery technology to allow any content provider to publish, price, sell and deliver content will prove a catalyst for growth throughout the mobile commerce market.

TheContentMarket.com is a part of Qpass OpenMarket business unit.
