Ohio-based Seapine Software has released its latest software development application, QA Wizard v2. Used primarily for automated functional testing of Web applications, QA Wizard v2 now includes the ability to test Windows applications, offers change control integration for better script management, adds load testing capabilities and international language support.
QA Wizards automated functional testing tools are designed to help eliminate the complexity of script creation and reduce the learning curve that has traditionally hindered the deployment and acceptance of these tools, claims Seapine Software. The softwares scripting environment should simplify script creation too, as well as eliminate the debugging process and reduce the impact of application changes on existing scripts.
The inability to test Windows applications was one of principal limitations of QA Wizards release last year. This added feature now allows it to search and bind to Windows objects in order to handle user interface changes automatically. This should result in less script maintenance.
Other features of the software upgrade include integration with software change management tools, specifically Seapines Surround SCM and Microsofts Visual SourceSafe. LoadLite, a multiple script execution option, has also been added. Unique to QA Wizard v2, this option supports functional load testing, providing the ability to test functionality under load or stress conditions. Finally, support for the Unicode character set standard has been added. This addresses the needs of international customers and global companies and allows QA Wizard to support most major languages, including multi-byte characters sets found in Japanese, Chinese, Russian and Hebrew, amongst others.
