Ciscos TelePresence is an innovative, new technology that creates unique, in-person experiences between people, places, and events in their work and personal lives - over the network.
TelePresence promises greater productivity, faster decision making and improved time to market, improved responsiveness, and improved communication and collaboration with co-workers, partners, and customers.
The telepresence system uses lifesize high-definition video and directional sound technology that makes voices seem to come from where a user is located at the remote site. It even includes better lighting than current systems.
The TelePresence Meeting Solution seems to be a big step forward toward substantially reducing the absence of non-verbal attendees cues. Available in two versions, TelePresence 3000 and TelePresence 1000, the solution offers ultra high-definition, 1080p video and spatial audio designed to let particpants experience video subtelties as well as conversational nuances often elusive in more garden-variety solutions.
In this Podcast, Cisco VP/GM Marthin De Beer discusses in-person video and gives an overview of the companys TelePresence technology.
