Ricoh Ships Wireless Colour Duplex Scanner

Ricoh UK has released the IS760D, a network flatbed capable scanner which can handle up to a whopping 70ppm (pages-per-minute) in black-and-white and 38ppm in 24-bit colour.

The unit has been developed to meet the needs of workgroups requiring dedicated scanning facilities, in particular those organisations in which the digitisation of paper based information is essential for retaining data to support compliance and corporate governance initiatives.

Designed to be both flexible and reliable, the IS760D offers image output resolutions from 75- to 800ppi. It is also supplied with an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), which holds up to 200 sheets to streamline the scanning process and handle anything from a personal cheque to an A3 document.

'Regardless of the sector a business operates in, the digitisation of data for storage purposes is starting to have a real impact across the board,' explains Jacqueline Akakpo, product manager with Ricoh UK.

'Compliance concerns have spurred many companies into implementing scanning solutions and they have subsequently come to realise the additional benefits of improved workflow efficiencies. The IS760D offers a low cost, high performance, robust solution to address these issues and helps businesses to work smarter.'

Other features of the A3 CCD scanner include SCSI-3 Ultra Wide (16-bit), FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces, integrated Wireless LAN and Ethernet 10/100Base-TX ports, 24-bit (16.7 million) colour depth, 10-bit maximum grey depth, and scaling between 25- and 400 per cent.
