Memeo Enhances Software Backup Solutions

Memeo just announced new photo capabilities within its flagship backup range, Memeo AutoBackup and Memeo iExtend. The company has teamed with Shutterfly to deliver Shutterfly’s products and services to AutoBackup and iExtend. The solutions are immediately available through the Memeo Web site.

An increasing number of consumers are uploading and sharing photos, but few are taking the time to backup these precious moments and prevent loss. By providing a direct link to Shutterfly, Memeo claims it has created a simplified end-to-end experience.

With its new capabilities, Memeo detects new digital photos and enables simultaneous file backup while uploading photos to Shutterfly. Additionally, the solution will simultaneously backup other digital files such as music and videos to a computer or external storage device.

You can also access your Shutterfly accounts to share pictures, create unique photo gifts and order prints. To launch the relationship, Memeo customers who purchase AutoBackup or iExtend will receive 30 free prints from Shutterfly.

Memeo iExtend, the company’s latest backup solution for iPods, allows you to expand the capabilities of your iPod beyond music and make it easier to access iPod content such as photos, e-mail, contacts, calendars, PowerPoint presentations, and the like. Memeo iExtend also gives you the ability to access RSS news feeds on your iPod.

Both iExtend and AutoBackup include ‘Zero-Touch’ data preservation technology, which is designed to protect the ever-evolving digital life style. It automatically conforms to individual user behaviour and recognises the need to use various types of content in a many different ways. Memeo automatically backs-up any new file addition or change.

The SmartPick checklist is designed to take the guesswork out of locating important files by allowing you to simply check-off what files or content you want to backup and to what location.

Memeo also keeps track of changes made to files while the designated backup destination is disconnected from the PC and automatically updates those changes upon re-connection. Memeo also includes a search feature so you can instantly find and restore any information - from a version of a single file to an entire computer’s worth of data.
