Lite-On has introduced its new external slim and slot-loading drive to the market.

The SLW-831SX is a DVD±RW burner with double-layer (DL) capabilities. The slim design makes it ideal for travellers and laptops users, being both compact and lightweight (350g). It is also ideal for desktop users who want to save space, or simply want to have a more sleek and attractive drive in view.

What’s more, the drive boasts a steady performance, and with the slot-loading design, inserting and ejecting discs can be done in a single smooth step without the risk of breaking vulnerable trays while on the move.

Besides its slender appearance and easy loading system, the SLW-831SX also promises great performance on reading and writing speeds and quality. The drive reads and writes double-layer media at 2.4x, letting you store, edit and share up to 8.5GB of video, photos, multimedia presentations and more on a single DVD.

Furthermore it writes on DVD+R and DVD-R at 8x and rewrites on DVD±RW at 4x. CD-RW media can be burned at 24x.
