Samsung Pocket Projector

Samsung Electronics is constantly unveiling breathtaking new information, display, and telecommunications products. Not only does it have the world's largest PDP, LCD and DLP TVs, but it's set to release the smallest DLP projector.

If you have ever carried a portable projector with you on the road, you will be interested in this marvel of technology. Weighing in at around 907g and measuring 101x152x50mm, this is by far the smallest true video projector we have ever seen. The downside is that it delivers images at resolutions of just 800 by 600 pixels, with a light source of 35 lumens, but is optimised for projecting images in the 40- to 50-inch screen size.

While this may seem under-powered compared to larger models, consider again how small it is, and that it has a battery pack that lets you run the projector for two hours without plugging in. And if you are showing presentations around a table for only two or three people, you can simply shine this on the wall instead of forcing everyone to gather around your laptop screen. Back in your hotel room, you can now turn your hotel wall or ceiling into a 50-inch screen to watch DVDs. Price and date of shipping has not been announced, but it should be on the market by early next year.

Named as one of the fastest-growing brands by Interbrand, Samsung Electronics was also named the fastest growing brand in Best Brands 2005, an annual award given by Serviceplan, SevenOne, GfK market research, the German Brands Association (Markenverband) and the WirtschaftsWoche business magazine. This award, which surveyed consumers on the appeal of leading brands and the future strength of those brands, is further testimony to the strength and success of the Samsung brand.

Vice Chairman and CEO Jong-Yong Yun said, 'I am very proud of these achievements and of the dedication of our company to continually produce cutting-edge, category-leading products. Samsung is committed to leading the ongoing technology revolution and to developing products that truly enhance peoples lives. Our aim is to continue challenging design limits and to provide consumers with leading-edge products, designed specifically for their needs.'
