ViewSonic has launched a 20.1-inch widescreen LCD suitable for both work and play.

The first widescreen monitor in its VX series, the VX2025wm boasts a 16:10 display format and is equipped with invisible bezel-mounted speakers to deliver an all-round authentic multimedia experience. And due to its elegant styling, it is sure to make a design statement in any modern setting.

With horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 176 degrees as well as a relatively high contrast and brightness specifications of 800:1 and 300cd/m² respectively, the VX2025wm should suit all but the most demanding graphics users and gamers.

The widescreen display offers plenty of space (1680x1050 pixels) to view wide spreadsheets at a single glance or to display two A4-sized pages next to each other. What’s more, even the sidebars will find ample room to be displayed. As such, this model will directly help to increase productivity.

Its widescreen format, integrated speakers and a speedy response time of only 8ms (grey-to-grey) should also help to ensure that movies and games zip along and are free from distracting black bars or irritating blurs.

The VX2025wm is equipped with both an analogue and digital inputs, but unfortunately there’s no S-Video or SCART connector. It will be available now from specialist retailers and e-tailers. The recommended retail price is £360.
